Description
Important fortress in the 17th century, the little town no longer bears traces of the imposing star-shaped walls built by the Spanish in 1636. The village was inhabited first by the Celts, then by ther Romans. According to a legend, Hannibals elephant bit broke here: that village curious name might derive from this episode .
