Giovanni Antonio de' Sacchis (born in Pordenone 1483 and dead in Ferrara 1539) frescoed the dome of the Santa Maria di Campagna Church between 1530 and 1535, after that in 1522 he had completed the frescoes cycle dedicated to the passion of Christ in the Cathedral of Cremona and after he had frescoed (1529) the Pallavicino Chapel in Cortemaggiore. De' Sacchis did not complete the frescoes cycle of the dome; pilasters, drum and pendentives were painted by Bernardino Gatti, called the Sojaro.
The Pordenone made other important works in Santa Maria di Campagna: the Chapel of Saint Catherine (1530-1532), the Chapel of the Nativity or the Magi (1532-1536), St. Augustine (1535).
